During the summer of 2021, I participated in the Summer Innovation Program run by Mass DiGI. Over the course of three months, I worked with other students from a variety of schools and countries. My team consisted of myself and five other students, as well as a marketer and an audio producer who both worked with all of the teams in the program.
Bewitching Boba is, so far, the only game from Mass DiGI that I developed from its inception. Every other game that I have worked on while at Mass DiGI have been projects that were already released. This presented me with a new opportunity to shape a game from the beginning of its development. In contrast with other projects I have worked on while at Mass DiGI, my work on Bewitching Boba placed greater importance on finding the most rewarding elements of the core mechanics, how to expand on the core mechanic, and creating an easily expandable design space.
While developing Bewitching Boba, I took a more active role in implementing analytics into the game. Through this process, I gained a better understanding of how the systems for gaining user data function.
